Christmas Freebie #18

It's so, so busy as we wind down this week.  I've been super busy getting our fun day in math ready for tomorrow.  Be sure to check back to see the pictures tomorrow.  Here's a hint...it involves food, "shopping", and money for an AWESOMELY FUN Performance Task!

Here's a few of the things we'e been up to this week.

We've been practicing our fluency by reading the words as we sing Christmas songs.  We're taking the act on the road as we go caroling to other classrooms tomorrow.
If you missed this freebie, just click on the picture.

We've also been practicing ABC order in one of the literacy stations.  The 8 word cards are stored in a baggie.

I also included an alphabet strip for each student to give extra support to those who need it.  Click on this picture to get this freebie if you haven't already gotten it.

Today's freebie is actually one I offered BEFORE I had the idea to give away 25.  I hope you'll forgive me for being a little too busy to get you a new one tonight!  :)

It includes 3 math stations.  This will also be the last of Christmas themed freebies.  I'm sure everyone is winding down and looking ahead to what you will do when you return.  I will be also!

More Christmas Freebies...#16 & #17

Well, let me say, I was very surprised...shocked even that not ONE single child said a word today about the tragedy on Friday.  I did however, have a parent e-mail me within the first 15 minutes saying how "unnerving" it was to have a state patrolman standing outside the school this morning when she dropped off her son.  I had wondered if students would be kept at home, but I didn't have any students absent. To me, that sent out a great message of trust, love and faith in teachers that they knew we would do everything in our power to take care of the students.

And we will...everyday... as we have ALWAYS done.  I must admit though, I did look at things differently today.  Even though we've had many lockdown drills, and practiced, it still makes you REALLY think...

and ask ourselves, "What do we do now?" Denise over at Sunny Days in Second Grade sums it up best.  Check out her thoughtful, insightful, and heartfelt post.

I'm sure we've all dwelled on these aspects today.

I think one of the reasons I didn't hear students talk about it is because...

It was Whoville Hair Day at school!

What fun!

Now, on to my freebies for today. I've got two for you since we had the Day of Silence on our blogs yesterday...

Freebie #16

This freebie can be found in my TPT store here.  It includes directions to post at the literacy station as well as the rules for adding -s, -es, or -ies and a worksheet.

 Freebie #17

Here are some bookmarks for your students to color.

As always, enjoy! :-)

Christmas Freebies #14 & #15

Like everyone else, I was shocked, stunned and saddened by yesterday's events.
I just didn't have the heart to blog last night.

On a great, up-beat, GOOD news note...
I went to see my friend Teresa Williams yesterday.  She is doing SOOOOO good.  I was thrilled beyond words at how good she looks.  We had the nicest visit laughing and talking.
Of COURSE, we had to talk about all of you wonderful people and how you helped so much financially and with your prayers.  Please continue to remember her.
If you do not know the background story, please read all about it here.  She is truly a living testament to the fact that God is still in the miracle business.

You can still help her out $$ by purchasing the piggy unit which is available until Dec. 31st.  ALL proceeds go directly to her to help with expenses.

Now, on to both yesterday and today's FREEBIE ...

Freebie #14
Editable Nametags for all your Christmas gifts!

If you prefer to handwrite, just click on the text box and delete.

Freebie #15
I Have...Who Has with past tense verbs.

Just another quick note about all of my units that I am about to retire.  They continue to be on CLEARANCE for ONLY $1 each.  Click here to see which ones are included.  Today is the LAST day.  Grab yours now!

I will not be blogging tomorrow.  I am joining in with teacher bloggers from all over in a show of solidarity, love and support for the teachers, families and community of Sandy Hook Elementary.  We have declared Sunday to be a DAY OF SILENCE to honor and remember.

Please feel free to copy and paste this graphic onto your own blogs.  Thanks to Michelle at The 3am Teacher for designing and sharing.!

Check back Monday for Freebies # 16 & #17.

Christmas Freebie #8 and Some Common Core

Well, I feel a little better knowing that so many of you are going until the 21st also.  We've never gone so long before getting out before.  However, without little ones, I would rather have my time AFTER the Christmas hub-bub dies down.  I'm thinking...VACATION!!!  :-)

I've been working in my TPT store this morning combining some of my items.  I also made a page on here listing all of my Common Core items.  Check them out to see if there is anything you need.

Christmas Freebie Day #8

A Power Point Presentation...

I hope you are having a GREAT weekend!  I'm having a wonderful time with me, myself and I as all the rest of the family is out and about today!  :-)

Friday....YES!

Raise your hand if you are glad it's Friday...

Yep, I KNOW you are ALL raising your hand.

I am ab.so.lute.ly EXHAUSTED!!!!

I dread the next 2 weeks...

(We don't get out until Friday, Dec. 21st...don't even get me started on that...  We're probably the ONLY school in the whole United States that is going that late!!!)

Anyway, I don't have the strength OR the energy to share a lot with you today.

BUT, I do have Christmas Freebie #7 for you today.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of  it to share with you...

I copied the cover on red and green construction paper.

The inside I copied back to back.

When stapling into a book, be sure to put "Frosty the Snowman" in the middle since it is 2 pages.

My thinking is that singing familiar songs will be a GREAT way to help my little low reading group kiddos practice on their fluency.

Don't forget to check out my Christmas Craft Day and Linky Party along with yesterday's freebie.

Enjoy!

Currently and Day #2 FREEBIE!

It’s one day closer to Christmas which means it’s also day #2 for a Christmas freebie.

Today is another calendar...this time to decorate your room.  I LOVE making classroom decorations.

In fact you can find several classroom decorations I have made in my TPT store.

I'm also linking up with Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade.

I hope you are all enjoying receiving these gifts as much as I enjoy giving!

Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for another goody.
