Blogs You Should Visit!

Well, since I have NOTHING (and I do mean...NOTHING) to blog about seeing as we're still have our big CRCTs this week and game playing/extra recess for the remainder of the day, I have decided to blog on some great little blogs that I'm finding while I'm too tired to do anything except blog stalking uh...hopping I mean...lol...

Here is the first.
TeachingWithLoveandLaughter

Lori has the cutest idea of a little pick-me-up for the students before a big test.  Maybe you can use it before you have whatever big test you are mandated to give.  I'm just too tired to start making these tonight!

Next:
A Cupcake for the Teacher

(For some reason, I was unable to "Grab" her button!)
I just LOVE the Mother's Day idea she has as her latest blog post.
Isn't the name of her blog adorable??

And the last for tonight:

I just became a follower on Courtney's blog.  She's got a freebie.  (I know we ALL love those.) So hop on over, join up if you haven't, and get your freebie.  Have a great night and hopefully, you just found 3 new blogs to join!

The dreaded tests and a new find!

I have been super tired trying to get back in the swing of things these last couple of days after returning from Spring Break.  We've been taking it easy and keeping it fun in the classroom this week.  We've been playing lots of review games and just having a good time.

This is one of the games we've been playing.  I really use this one and the language arts one a LOT at this time of year.  It's a great review!

I can't believe how many of my little sweeties have been having to trek down to the nurse with poison oak/ivy all over them.  I guess with the beautiful weather last week, they really enjoyed playing outside.

We start the dreaded CRCT's tomorrow.  I have to say, that I think the kiddos are pretty relaxed and confident seeming about them.  I have stressed to them these last two days that I have taught them everything they need to know and now they just need to let their brains work and show me how smart they are.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no panic attacks happen tomorrow!

I was super-excited to come across a new blog just a bit ago that is offering clipart.  I'm ALWAYS looking for some new and refreshing clipart to use.  Be sure to stop by and check them out (and maybe spread a little love by becoming followers and purchasing if you see anything you need!) Here is their blog.

Well, I'm keeping it short and sweet tonight as I need to get extra rest.  Have a great rest of the week everyone!

I've been tagged...

I've been tagged by two different blogs.
Here Are The Rules:

* Post these rules

* Answer the 10 questions that the tagger posted for you

* Create 10 questions of your own to ask the people that you're about to tag

* Tag 10 people and link them with your post (and let them know they've been tagged!)

The first is Tammy over at 123teachwithme.

1. If you didn't teach, what would you want to do?  Something with computers or work in a library

2. Share one of your favorite blogs to read and share their link. What makes it a great blog?
She always has great ideas and some of the cutest pictures!!!
3. How many students are in your class? 20
4. What grade would you NOT want to teach? Anything above 5th grade...(They're taller than I am!)
5. What is your favorite animal? I am a cat lover!
6. Do you work at a private or public school?  I've always worked at a public school.
7. Do you have another job outside of teaching?  No (Unless you count my new adventure with TPT)
8. How many years have you been teaching?  This is my 23rd year.  Retirement is in sight!  :-)
9. Describe your first year of teaching in ONE word.  OVERWHELMING!!!!!
10. Did you play a sport in college?  NO, I was in the college choral group.

Here are the questions from Rachel at abseymour.

1. What is your favorite subject to teach?  This year it is math.  It differs from year to year and group to group! HA!!
2. What is your most embarrassing moment as a teacher?  Oh, my...I don't think you really need to know that...right???  My VERY first day of teaching 23 years ago...
No one told me the first day of school was a MAD house and to arrive an hour early.  I couldn't find a parking place and the principal was outside directing traffic and knew that I was late because I had been stuck in traffic that was backed up for more than a mile.  Needless to say, I have NEVER made that mistake again.
(Sorry - I have NO idea what I did to make this highlighted!)
3. What is the most exciting thing you will do this summer?  We just bought my aunt/uncle's share of the family vacation place in Florida, so we plan on spending lots of time there.
4. What is your favorite holiday?  Any that gives me time to spend with my family!!!
5. What is the most important item you use in your classroom?  My projector with the bigscreen.  I have soooo many things I use it for!
6. What item would you love to have in your classroom?  A cute, cute, cute library!!!
7. What tip would you give to a new teacher?  Get managment under your belt as soon as possible.  Without classroom management, your day/life is so much more stressful!!!
8. How long have you been a teacher?  23 years
9. If you weren't a teacher, what would you be doing?  Something with computers/media specialist
10. How do you celebrate the end of the school year with your kiddos?  We usually have theme days with special activities.

Spring Break is almost over...

Hi everyone!  I hope those of you who have been on spring break this week had a wonderful week.  We were able to go to Florida for a few days of rest and relaxation.  While the hubs was out fishing (I can't go out on the boat because I am allergic to the sun...part of my Lupus), I spent my time in the shade or indoors and worked on finishing up some new units on TPT.

My first unit is dedicated to the memory of my father who was a HUGE racing fan all of his life.  He has now been gone from us for 4 years, this past March, so making this unit was inspired by thoughts of him.

You can check it out here.  Get it at my introductory price until Tuesday.

My 2nd unit, doesn't have any special reason attached to it, other than the fact that we are reguired to teach homographs.  LOL  This unit it titled, "Hip, Hip Homographs."  (Get it???  hip - like hooray, and hip - like on your body...)

Here is the link to see it.

Most importantly, I finished and posted a special unit...a FREEBIE to thank everyone for helping me reach over 100 followers on here and on my TPT store.  I was going to wait until after tomorrow night and the end of the multi-blog Spring Give Away, but since we are now home from our vaca, I just couldn't wait.  I get so stinking excited over new things.  I am NOT the queen of patience by any stretch of the imagination.  hahaha...

I was super excited that almost as soon as I uploaded it, someone downloaded it and left me a rating!  There are several fun math activities to do with this freebie so hurry on over and check it out.

I know I'm getting long in my post, but since I've been on Spring Break, I have a couple of "experiences" to blog about.  The first...the best thing that happened...

We were riding down a remote road to a place called Shired Island the other evening around dusk when all of a sudden we saw....THE ELUSIVE, FLORIDA PANTHER...in the wild!!!  We were so excited to actually get to see one.  I have been saying for years, that it seemed the perfect environment for one.

Now, the worst thing that happened....

We were traveling home on I-75 yesterday, in bumper-to-bumper stop and go traffic.  My husband was driving and I was zoned out thinking about blogging, TPT, etc.  As we were coming up on the exit for Warner Robbins, Ga., it made me think of Deanna Jump (who is from there) and all of the many blessings she has received through TPT when ...WHAM...BAM...BOOM...a huge rock hit our windshield and put a good-size dent in it.  Needless, to say, I was no longer thinking of Deanna, but more like thinking of the cost to have that repaired, since I know from personal experience that insurance will not cover it.

Oh, well, we returned home safe and sound, so if that was the WORST thing that happened during this past glorious week of beautiful weather and rest & relaxation, I am blessed beyond measure!!!

Don't forget to scroll down to my previous post and enter for the Spring Break Giveaway if you haven't already.  It ends tomorrow night at 7:00 EST.
