What a FUN art filled activity we completed this week! This art activity would be great for teaching about perspective, Flat Stanley, a windy day, and the list goes on and on....
First have your students take off their shoes.
(Can I just say this alone causes some mighty happy students!)
Students will trace their shoes, then turn them over and fill in with the design found on the bottom of the shoe.
This is probably the most attention to detail of their shoes that they have ever noticed! HA!
In the upper two corners, have the students work with a partner to trace their hands.
For the next step, have students watch this video to draw their face between their hands.
Lastly, show students how to add the body, arms and legs to make it appear that they are blowing away in the wind.
Then have them add details and color.
I was extremely pleased at how well they did on this activity.
Especially since we do not get any art classes in 2nd grade!
We devoted two days to this activity. Each segment was about 40 minutes long.
Try this in your classroom and watch the creativity flow!
Now, link up your own fun-filled ideas that the rest of us can TAKE and MAKE. Don't forget to add the linky picture to any new and past post that you would like. I look forward seeing what you share!
