Hi everyone!
My name is Cynthia Vautrot (pronounced Vo-tro with long o sounds). I live in the same little North Georgia town where I was born and raised - Ellijay (pronounced L-ah-jay). I won't tell you my age, but I've lived here almost a half-century!! hahaha
I am starting my 24th year of teaching. My heart gladdens at times thinking how close I'm getting to retirement so I can pursue my dream of traveling the US in our camper, but other times I am sad to be getting close to the end of this journey. Teaching is in my blood. It's the very first thing I can remember wanting to be. I would play school daily with all my dolls and stuff animals and if you were lucky ;-) enough to come home with me as a child, you got to spend your afternoon playing school again! hahaha
I have been married to Ronnie for 26 years and we have 2 beautiful daughters. Megan, our oldest, has always wanted to be a teacher also and she pushed through college in 3 years. Alas, with the economy we worried about her getting a job since they are so scarce, but God has blessed her by allowing her to teach 4th grade (her favorite) in the local Christian school. She is married to a wonderful young man, BJ. Our youngest daughter, Camille, is currently in college and engaged to be married to Chad in January. We are so lucky that we love both of our daughter's choices in men. We couldn't be more blessed with such fine Christian fellows for our daughters!
Some of my favorite things to do is read, create items for my classroom, travel/camp, and just spend time at home.
I am new to the world of blogging. I am constantly amazed at the technological era we live in. What a world of difference my earlier teaching career would have been with blogging, TPT, Pinterest, etc. Well, I'm jumping on for the ride. I know I'm learning a LOT from others, but I hope I have a little to contribute and share to make your stop by here worth while!
I am a new follower. Heard about your Facebook and blog on Facebook. Excited.

I just found your blog today and thank goodness I did. I will be teaching 2nd grade this year for the first time just got moved from kinder (my heart and passion) and I have crazy anxiety over this move... but I can't wait to get ideas from your blog :)
ReplyDeleteHi Cynthia,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and like you I am new to the blogging world. I have learned so much from other bloggers, Pinterest and the internet. I have been teaching for 20 years and I agree with you when you say how different your earlier teaching would have been with so much on offer on the internet. I have gained so much from other bloggers and I am forever grateful for their generosity. I love your blog and I am your newest follower.

I just purchased the unit to support Teresa and by mistake I deleted the receipt as it was in my SPAM box. I thought I would be able to access it in my TpT downloads but it doesn't seem to be there and you did say it would come by email. I hope this will not prevent my receiving the materials as I was really looking forward to them! Blessings on you, your family, and for Teresa's healing! Sincerely, Sharon Allen, Los Alamos, New Mexico. Thank you!
